Welcome to Huntington Reproductive's in vitro fertilization, IVF information and education Web site. IVF has become a first line treatment for many of the diseases causing infertility. Many years ago IVF was considered an "experimental procedure" but after years of successful use and refinement it is now recognized as a safe, effective, and in some cases, "first line" fertility treatment. First line IVF treatment may be considered in older females, those with tubal disease, male infertility, and other conditions.

IVF has been offered by Huntington Reproductive since we opened our southern California office in 1988 and we are now one of the largest, successful programs in the World. We consistently deliver IVF success rates exceeding the national averages.

We offer all assisted reproductive technologies including intracytoplasmic sperm injection ( ICSI ), preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), assisted hatching (AH), TESA, MESA, and PESA, embryo cryopreservation, and others. We are also conducting research on how to effectively freeze and thaw eggs which will reduce the cost of subsequent IVF cycles and allow women to store their eggs for future use.

We have six fertility clinic locations conveniently located in southern California to help patients minimize their "drive time" for office visits. Unlike many other practices, we offer ART services, including in vitro fertilization, PGD, assisted hatching, etc. at three of our locations. The Pasadena, Laguna Hills, and Westlake Village offices all feature a fully functional embryology laboratory.

IVF requires a team of highly skilled experts, requires several weeks, and requires numerous office visits. Each patient's case is reviewed daily by her team and other specialists. Patients benefit from the combined experience of our reproductive endocrinologists. Huntington's clinics are conveniently located and feature board certified reproductive endocrinologists and highly trained embryologists and nurses. Our team has extensive experience performing procedures such as ICSI and PGD for screening embryos for select abnormalities.

This site includes extensive information on infertility and IVF including ovarian stimulation to produce multiple eggs, egg retrieval, embryo incubation, and embryo transfer. We also include our success rates information. Be careful when comparing IVF programs success rates as there are many clinic treatment variables including female age, previous treatments, presence of male factor infertility, and many others. A program with a disproportionate number of young female patients may appear to have higher success rates. We treat many older patients and our success rates still far exceed the national averages.

All common causes of infertility are discussed in detail as are the available treatment options. We provide the biographies of all our physicians. Clomid is a widely used fertility drug and our Clomid Web site discusses its use and abuse and we include articles from our physicians.
